For a while now I have been struck by an extremely annoying trend and that is the peppering of our Kuwaiti dialect with English words in a completely unnecessary manner. You either speak English or Arabic.

My friend is the most cutest thing. Here is her story…

Two years ago she met this guy called A and they instintly clicked. They became best best friends. They knew eachother inch by inch. But he had a girl friend and then she started developing feelings for him. But she obviously couldn’t do anything about it. So she was a good supportive friend and kept her mouth shut. When he had problems with his girlfriend she wouldnt be selfish and take advantage, instead she would do everything to try and help him.

Her feelings started getting stronger. But then she realized she couldnt have him so she tried to move on. And she did. She starting dating someone. But she and her man were fighting constantly about the most silliest things. At the end of the night she would call A and cry and ask him for advice and he would help her. A also had problems with his girl friend so he broke it off with her. He became seriouse and thought about the future and he didnt see her there. So he ended it before things got too complicated. He was single.

My friend then was still having problems with her boyfriend. Anyways she then decided to leave him because why be with someone who makes you so sad and depressed all the time. She tried to make things better a million times but it just seemed hopeless.

Then she decided to also cut A out of her life. She realized that her feelings towards him never went away and were still there. She was scared of that. So yes, she ended that friendship.

Two months later (now) he sends her a message on her e-mail. He could not contact her on facebook or her phone since she blocked him.

Her heart raced so fast once she saw his name. She thought how can he send me an e-mail?

So she decided to call him. Once she herd his voice she smiled. And she could tell that he was smiling too. In the e-mail he said that he had something to tell her.

What he wanted to tell her was that he dreamt about her the night before. The dream was that he was in a room filled with his family, and he saw her. The way he described the dream was as if was an engagment.

He asked why she out of no where ended the friend ship. She ended it in a rather mean way. She said she was sorry and that she didn’t mean for it to go that way. He was confused, he again asked the same question. She was so nervouse that she blurted it out. “I have feelings for you”

He then answered with something she never thought possible. “Well maybe I have feelings for you too”

She asked him “do you?”

He said it doesnt matter, she said yes it does matter tell me. He did.

He then asked her well what now?

And mashallah 3leeha she replied erfectly.

“Listen, everythings changed now. I’m a diffrent women. From now on I’m taking things seriously. I dont want a boyfriend. No games, no dala3, no jokes. I want a husband.”

He seemd so happy to hear her answer he said yes thats good.

“I think its best that we stay friends for now. And the feelings we will try to put them aside for now. You still have one more year to go in school and Im entering second year university. Once your done with school and the feelings are still there, then we will see. Cause we dont know what will happen. And if all is good then I will come and talk to your mom.”

She was happy.. so happy. She felt their relationship has changed. Yes they are remaining friends but she feels there is more respect. Which is very important before love comes along.

Who knows what will happen.. wish them luck please. Pray that they will stay together o inshallah kl el 5air 3leehm. Id3olhm.

It’s three in the morning now, and I still haven’t called Sara. It’s ok, I call her in the morning Inshalla. So, anyways, we just came back from the mayls and I’m packing my bags now. 3abdalla and 3alooy are in the 9ala, watching tv.

I finally closed my suitcase, everything’s fine and ready. I got up walked to my bedside table, my mobile was charging and I picked it. I clicked on the button and then the screen lit up. I opened my messages and began writing…

I was positive that she wasn’t wake, but I thought why not give it a try. I got up and went in the bathroom to wash up and pray the morning prayers and when I came back, I found a message.

I punched in her number and it rang…

“Alloo?” she sounded…scared?

“Hehe, Sara 7abeebty, it’s me don’t worry.”

“Ohhh…ok.”

She went quiet until I broke off the silence.

Still nothing, except for her deep breathing.

“It was my fault, I overreacted, walla ma kan 8a9dy, bs 5ftt 3alaiich. Y3ni hay moo mn 3awaidich, you not answering the phone, I mean…you still there?”

“Mmm…”

“Ok, adry inich you hate me right now, bs at least tell me that you’ll forgive o that’s all I want to hear for now…”

“7abeebty, walla I’m sorry, I trully am!”

“Mhmm…yeah…ok.”

“I get that you don’t want to talk to me right now, bs I have to tell you something…”

But that would be too selfish for me to say so….I guess I was a bit harsh, I mean just answering him with ‘Hmm’s, ‘Yeah’s, and ‘Mmm’s.

I going to see her, comfort her, hug her, make her feel safe in my arms…now!

I pressed the red button and went out to the 9ala, where 3abood and 3alooy were. I told 3abood that I had some errands to run and that I’ll meet him at the airport, and 3alooy was going to drop him off there. I quickly changed. I took my wallet out of my thoob and my passport from the safe. Minutes later I carried my lugagge down the stairs and I put it in 3alooy’s car, since he was dropping of 3abood.

I got into my Porsche and put the keys in the ignition and drove off as fast as I could. I reached her house in about 7 minutes. I knew the direction from Nayif, since he invited me to dinner while Sara was in the UAE.

“Baby, ana bara.”

“Ok…I’m coming.”

She opened the garage door and motioned me to park the car inside.

After he called me, before leaving his house, I went and changed into a pair of jeans but kept on my GAP sweater, I was feeling cold. And it sure was a bit breezy outside, weird though, very.

He’s finally here. Al 7mdilla.

My baby. He’s right infront of me. Oh how I missed him! He got out of the car- he was wearing his D&G pants with a yellow polo that complemented his tan and showed off his 6 packs, shoot, kill me now!- and came and picked me off of the ground and twirled me in the air.

Mmmm, he smelled so good. Yumm ,hehe.

“I-I ca-I can’t- breathhh!” I said as he squeezed me tighter and tighter, but it felt so good. So right.

“Sorry.” he said as he loosened his grip on me and showering my forehead and face with his soft, pleasant kisses.

” I can hear you fine you know that?” She walked towards me and teased. “Uff Haya look at yourself” She pointed at me and gave me an non approving look.

“Sho hal na’6rah?” I asked her feeling uncomfortable. “Why do you always dress like .. crap?” She complained YET again.

“Mub crap! I’m just wearing my comfy track suit!” I immediately protested. “Haya you’ve had this track suit ever since you were 13 it’s so dusty, black and I think it’s torn! Sho ha! Is this your way of welcoming your new life?” She scolded me. “Ahh keefy” I put on my headphones again, I’m so not in the mood to listen to her!

So I dress like crap, Keefy 9a7? Meera is such a fashion freak with her designer jeans, oversized glasses and bags .. and all that, but me on the other hand .. I really don’t care!

Meera rolled her eyes and wore her sunglasses. Seriously I never got why people wear sunglasses in closed places? Do they think it’s cool or something? Okay so I could never say that to Meera because she terrifies me!

Meera looked at me, and gave me a look that screamed I know what you are thinking. God she scares me.

“Yallah let’s go” she carried her LV traveling handbag. “Sho?” I asked her, I couldn’t listen to her because the music on my I-pod was just too loud.

She marched towards me and took off my huge headphones. “How many times do I have to tell you that your headphones with these scary skulls and stickers are childish, freaky and HUGE! You can’t even listen to me when I talk!!!” She began scolding me AGAIN. “Aaah Meero can we just go?” I pushed her to lead the way, she glared, but let it pass.

We were very early to the flight, as usual, Meera was punctual, maybe too punctual. So we sat in the lounge and I kept doodling random stuff on my notebook, “Uff it’s so hot” I complained I quickly gathered my hair and put it in a messy bun, folded my legs and snuggled to the chair.

“God you look like Buddha” Meera sighed while she was texting on her Blackberry. “Stop picking on me! I know it’s your hobby but it’s getting annoying inzein.” I rolled my eyes.

Another thing I don’t get is the Blackberry. SERIOUSLY why does everyone have it? I guess it’s just a weird trend.

Anyways even with the loud music of my headphone I still could hear Meera giving me tips how to update my look and become “Prettier” and all that crap. So I just rolled my eyes and stood up, I’m so escaping! “I’m going to get something to drink tbein shai?” I asked politely “Yah please diet coke” She smiled.

I headed to the drinks section and just as I got there, I bent to look at the weird tiny refrigerator with all the drinks. “What the hell” I whispered “Why do these refrigerators look so weird” I wondered and tried to open one.

“Offf leish mayefta7″ I said to myself while trying to pull the handle.”Ufff ye8har” I kept struggling to open the tiny refrigerator but it still didn’t open! “Sa5eef!” I whispered, well since I was wearing the headphones I didn’t realize that my voice was actually loud. I subtly kicked the refrigerator hoping for it to open. “Shit!” I said out loud, I hurt my foot.

And then I suddenly heard laughter behind me, a male’s laughter. Actually loud enough to surpass the music of my headphones! So I quickly looked behind me.

A long, very long guy who looked in his early twenties stood. He was, really handsome I have to admit, and I never admit this stuff. He had thick brown-ish soft curly hair, an amazing-more like to die for- tan, perfect sharp features and most importantly striking grey-ish blue eyes! WEIRD I KNOW.

I stared at him for moments, studying his features, when he opened his mouth and I realized he was talking.

I quickly took off my headphones. “Okay so I’ll assume you didn’t hear anything I said” He chuckled. “Wha .. a .. t?” I stared at him, God I was pathetically drooling all over him. He pointed to my headphones. “Oh yah sorry about that I love my music loud” I smiled.

“Nice headphones I like them with all that”- he pointed to the designs on my headphone- “what are they?” He examined my headphones. “Umm .. Skulls, guns and stuff” I mumbled obviously embarrassed.

“They’re cute” He smiled. “At last! Someone that gets me! Tell my friend that! She says they’re hideous!” I suddenly got really excited, and the guy started laughing hysterically which made me feel more embarrassed.

“Oh do you need me to help you out?” He pointed the stupid refrigerator that was bugging me.

“Sure” I smiled at him and in a split of a second he opened the damn thing!

“What do you want?” He asked “Umm diet coke and”- but he cut me off-”Diet? But you’re so skinny!” He said astonished. “Oh .. it’s not for me” I smiled awkwardly. “Normal coke for me” I quickly said. He took both cans out and handed them to me, and smiled like he was waiting for something.

“Okay Umm I .. kinda have to go” I smiled “Yah yah it was nice to meet you .. ??” He smiled innocently but his eyes were sparking with curiosity.

I didn’t get why he wanted to know my name it’s not like we’d meet again but I just said it anyways. “Haya” I said “3ashat al asamy, and I’m hamad” He smiled cheerfully “Okay umm nice to meet you and thanks” I grinned and then headed back to Meera.

Hmmm sweet guy don’t you think?
