He was in a deep slumber as his mobile vibrated non-stop. Every once in a few minutes he’d turn to the right and then change to the left. He would cover his face with the cold, cozy duvet.

Hours later, he finally started to feel his surroundings. As time passed by he became more conscious and awake as he opened his eyes.

The room was dark, just the way he liked it. He rubbed his eyes and ruffled his hair. He stretched as wide as he can while the duvet straightened out. He yawned silently as he squeezed his eyes shut, when seconds later, his mobile vibrates again.

He managed to open his bedside lamp and grab his mobile as it was about to fall off the glass surface covering the actually wooden side table.

“5aiir?!!” he answered.

“Int lai7een nayim?” his secretary asked him.

“Ee, feeha shay?”

“Ee! 3ndk meeting b3d nu9 sa3a, mta nawy etsharef Inshalla?” she sounded frustrated.

“Ta3aly ‘6rbeeny b3d!”

“Bga 3l meeting 30 minutes, ubook o kbaar el sharika bekonoon mawjodeen…wnt wa7d feehum!”

“Enzaiiin enzaiiin, 5ala9! Yalla a9lan, el7een bl 6reeg ana!” he lied to her.

“Bsr3aa, la tfshl ubook nafs ‘theek el mara, la2na ana ely 5atht el sbab o mashait’ha.”

“Agool, yalla bye!” and he closed it in her face.

He pulled himself out of bed and walked to the bathroom as he cursed his secretary, Mai. He opened the tap and watched the water flow out and onto the showers surface. He took his boxers off and showered. Another 5 minutes later, he was done and wore his underwear. He wore his jeans and black buttoned shirt. He prayed the morning and afternoon prayers and left downstairs.

“Lachmiiii! Lachmiyoooo o 9umaa5!” he shouted for the maid.

“Yes baba, what you want?” she scurried to the TV room upstairs.

“Way3aa! Go look where my white suit jacket is,” he said as he popped a few grapes into his mouth.

She left and came back another five minutes later. She handed him the jacket as he went to his dresser and sprayed some perfume on. He wore his jacket as fast as possible, picked up his phone, Ray Bans, keys and off he went.

He got into his white Porsche Cayman S and drove hurriedly onto the main street. Whenever he stopped at a red light he’d be tapping his fingers on the steering wheel impatiently, waiting for the light to turn from red, yellow and green. After fifteen minutes, he finally arrived. He quickly drove off to the underground parking lot to park his car in his parking space.

He got out of the car, almost running towards the sliding door and into the elevator. He pressed on the twentieth button and waited impatiently for the doors to open to his level while it stopped at different floors with people coming in and leaving.

He finally arrived and when the doors opened, out he walked, so confidently. He walked towards his secretary’s desk and leaned on it while she was on the phone.

“Am7ag secretary, kla suwalif o hathra bl phone.” he rolled his eyes as she closed the phone.

She glared at him while he took a sip of her warm cup of coffee.

“Baal! Shno hay? Waydd ma9e5!!!” he said with a disgusted face.

“That’s my coffee…and I like it that way.” she said with her eyes fixed on the computer screen.

“7asha, walla ma yswaa 3alay! Haach yubba, e5theeh, mabeeh. Ma 3jabnyy…” he said arrogantly as he walked off towards the meeting room, “a9lan hy ma tadry ena el cup tbarak mn b3d ma shrabta!” he said to himself and rolled his eyes as he entered.
