As he laid his head down and closed his eyes he chuckled once more at what she last said. As the seconds passed by, one by one, he slowly fell into a deep sleep.

The next day was the same, except he had finished off a lot earlier. It was two hours away from dinner and he had nothing to do. He opened the side pocket of his bag, pulled out his packet of cigarette’s and took his lighter from the table.

He went out the door of his cabin and walked towards the field. He lighted up a cigarette and inhaled a deep smoke as he let it out seconds later. There was a slight breeze and the long grass seemed to be dancing around from left to right. The whistling sound of the wind was a sharp sound to his ears.

When he found a good place to sit in he sat cross legged on the spacious ground and watched the sunset. It was more clearer than the city’s view and the colours were more beautiful. They consisted of a mix of yellow, red, and orange.

While he was enjoying the view she took Thunder back to his cubicle and removed the saddle. She carefully removed his bridle off and ran her hand through his mane. She loved his colour. He was of a dark grey, hence the name, Thunder.

She kissed him between his two ears and walked out, closing the gates to his cubicle behind her. She walked up to the room in the stable and left the saddle with the rest of the pile and his bridle on the other side of the room with the rest of the pile too.

When she walked out into the field she started singing again, but this time she smelled the smoke of his cigarettes and turned her head in the direction of the smell.

“La b3d, 5oosh hindy, yda5en,” she whispered to herself as she looked at him him, with his back to her.

His heart skipped a beat when he heard her, the scenery and view made him completely forget about her. He quickly got up and turned around while she stood in her place looking towards the house and back at him.

“I don’t eat,” he joked at her being scared.

Her eyes grew bigger at what she just heard. English. Fluent english. Not the Indian english. No, but proper english.

“You…” she pointed at him, confused.

“I’m…Bandar,” he grinned.

She stayed silent when she put her fingers on her chin in thinking mode,”5oosh Hindy, ytkalam English 3adel…esma 3araby…ee! El thaher el banat emsawyeen feeny ma’3lab. La la, ma3t8ed…hmmm, akeed Hindy…ee ee akeed, nafs Aqua o Amar eb Cheetah Girls, ako, Hindy o daris b America o ‘thab6 el accent o esma 3araby,” she concluded with her lips pressed tightly against each other and her eyes looking above, still in thinking mode.

“Cheetah Girls?” he held himself from laughing,”Isn’t that like… ehm,” he cleared his throught,”too childish for you?” he raised his eyebrow.

“Inta fee mafhoom ana shno gool?” her eyes open owl like.

“Shfeech 3l accent, Hendeya o ma36eenich el jawaz wla?! Ee yubba, fahem kl ely glteeh,” he burst out into laughter.

Realization finally hit her and a million different shades of red coloured her cheeks and face. She quickly turned around and started walking towards the house, walking/running was more like it.

He instantly got up off the grass with the cigarette still in his hand as he ran behind her and caught her by her arm…her elbow to be exact.

“Shfeech est7aity?” he smiled.

“Like that wasn’t embarrassing just seconds ago,” her head was down.

“Haha, it was funny,” he started laughing but stood up straight again when her eyebrows creased and her expression became serious.

She looked down at his hand and up again at him indicating him to let go. He let go of her and looked back up to her face when he saw a tear coming down her pink cheeks. He slowly wiped it away with his thumb.

“Laish et9e7een?” he panicked.

“That…was…so…embarrassing,” she sobbed.

“Oh God, you girls make a big fuss about everything,” he didn’t know what to do.

The next few minutes were quiet when he broke the ice,” Are you done?” he said sarcastically with a cheeky smile.

“Mhmm,” she nodded, wiping away the tears.

“Good. Now let’s start over,” he began,” I’m Bandar,” he shook her hand.

“I’m Me3ad,” she giggled.

“Shy’tha7ek el7een?” he laughed at her.

“Wala shay,” she beamed.

“Akeed?” he winked.

“Hehe, umm…la2. I remember you…Bandi,” it was his nickname when they were kids.

“La7′tha, Me3ad as in Mama Me3a,” they used to make fun of her for liking Mama Mia.

“Hahaha! Ee, Mama Me3a,” she blushed.

They were good childhood friends.

“How are you?” he asked her.

He dropped the cigarette, stepped on it to put out the flame.

They started chatting and catching up on the old days until Me’aad excused herself. She turned and started walking in the direction of the house when he called out from behind her.

She didn’t turn around to face him, she just stood in her place with her back to him when seconds later she sprinted off in the direction of the house.
